Students in the lab are currently told to use "more narrowband" aka 72/3.0 framespec in audioGUI. At some point in the future, we may tell students doing formant tracking that they don't necessarily need to use "more narrowband," and they can experiment with using "narrowband." Until that time, changing the default setting to "more narrowband" prevents mistakes and ensures consistency across participant datasets within an experiment.
I have tested this in audioGUI with untracked and already-tracked data and it works as expected, as a default for untracked data.
