What does this mean?

The timeline figure needs to be redesigned but otherwise I think this is ready for review.

The changes should not be merged until the end of August/1 September, when the lesson program is scheduled to launch, but I would appreciate reviews before then so that I have time before the launch to respond to feedback from the Maintainers.
