Error when using "Unregister" to give up a snap name.

I don't know if there's something weird about my registrations, given they're probably quite old, compared to other people's? Maybe there's some metadata that hasn't been updated over the years since I registered the snaps?

I can also reproduce this error against a weird snap-disabled snap name in my namespace:

Is there some way we can move this forward?
Some options:

1. Give me some debugging to turn on or run locally to get more information for you to debug this
2. I can join a snapcraft clinic session (assuming someone from the snapcraft.io team can also), but will need to be careful what screens I share
3. Pair directly with a developer on a google meet / zoom call with my screen shared to help developers understand the issue
4. Bring my laptop over to the Canonical office (I work in London, just down the road) and sit with a developer for a session to debug this

I'm open to all of these.

Hi @popey, thanks for reporting this. It looks like there's a data inconsistency issue with this snap, caused by multiple registrations and revocations before certain safeguards in code were added that would prevent this scenario. I've manually revoked the package declaration, and the name should be freed for another user to register. The snap should also no longer be listed in your registered names -- please let me know if this isn't so.

Hi @brlin-tw, the error you're seeing is unrelated. It's because there have been uploads made for uhttpd-disabled which failed the scan process, and thus there's no revision allocated, making it look like an "empty" snap. These uploads were made in 2019. For technical reasons in the backend the name cannot be revoked if there are uploads. If you'd like to disown the name for tidiness, we can transfer it to our account for "retired snaps". Please let us know.

Are you guys planning to fix it? If not it make sense to remove the option from the UI.
