✨ Five principles we put into practice
We build the tools we need. Every product so far began with a task one of us could not finish with the tools at
hand. We keep using each one on our own machines after release, so we hit its rough edges before you do.
We practice healthy perfectionism. We refine the small things until a release feels right. Then we ship it, and
the next round of polish goes into an update.
We read every message with care. A person reads each message in full, whether it reports a problem or suggests an
idea. We plan our next work around what you tell us.
We keep our aesthetics pragmatic. We want our products to look good, and we keep a visual choice only when it
makes the tool easier to read or quicker to use.
We build on proven work. When a well-tested engine solves the hard problem, we build on it and put our effort into
the parts you touch. When none fits, we write that part ourselves.
🔒 Four promises
These promises apply to each product we release.
It's yours, and it stays yours. You can export what you put in as readable data. We do not use it to build a
profile of you.
Nobody buys your attention here. We put no advertising in our products and take no payment to favor someone else's
interests.
You can read what it does before you trust it. We document each behavior that can affect your trust, next to the
product that performs it.
It keeps working if we stop. If we retire a product, installed copies keep working on their current machines. We
will announce the decision before support ends.
