We take security seriously. If you believe you have found a security vulnerability in our project, please report it to us as described below.
Please do not report security vulnerabilities through public GitHub issues.
Instead, please report them via one of the following methods:
- Email: security@blockchain-inventory.com
- GitHub Private Vulnerability Reporting (if available on the repository)
When reporting a security issue, please include:
- A detailed description of the vulnerability
- Steps to reproduce the issue
- Potential impact of the vulnerability
- Any suggested remediation
- Your contact information for follow-up
When reporting a security vulnerability, please provide as much information as possible:
- Type of vulnerability (e.g., SQL injection, cross-site scripting, etc.)
- Location of the vulnerable code or functionality
- Steps to reproduce the vulnerability
- Proof-of-concept or exploit code (if possible)
- Potential impact of the vulnerability
- Any mitigating factors that might reduce the vulnerability
After you submit a security report:
- We will acknowledge receipt of your report within 48 hours
- We will investigate and provide an initial response within 7 days
- We will keep you informed of our progress
- Once the issue is resolved, we will coordinate disclosure timing with you
When contributing to this project, please follow these security best practices:
- Validate all user inputs
- Use parameterized queries to prevent SQL injection
- Implement proper authentication and authorization
- Encrypt sensitive data at rest and in transit
- Follow the principle of least privilege
- Keep dependencies up to date
- Perform security reviews of code changes
When deploying and using this system:
- Use strong, unique passwords and secrets
- Keep the system updated with the latest security patches
- Configure firewalls and access controls appropriately
- Monitor logs for suspicious activity
- Implement backup and recovery procedures
- Follow the principle of least privilege for user accounts
We support the latest version of the software with security updates. Older versions may not receive security updates.
| Version | Supported |
|---|---|
| 1.x | ✅ Yes |
| < 1.0 | ❌ No |
Our system includes several built-in security features:
- Authentication: Blockchain-based wallet authentication
- Authorization: Role-based access control with granular permissions
- Encryption: AES-256-GCM for data at rest, TLS 1.3 for data in transit
- Session Management: Secure JWT tokens with refresh mechanisms
- Rate Limiting: Protection against abuse and DoS attacks
- Input Validation: Sanitization and validation of all inputs
- Audit Logging: Comprehensive activity logging for compliance
We perform regular security testing including:
- Static code analysis
- Dependency vulnerability scanning
- Penetration testing
- Security-focused code reviews
- Automated security testing in CI/CD pipeline
In case of a security incident:
- Contain the incident to prevent further damage
- Assess the scope and impact
- Notify relevant stakeholders
- Remediate the issue
- Conduct post-incident review
- Update security measures as needed
This system is designed to help organizations meet various compliance requirements including:
- GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)
- SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act)
