TurboRag helps you search through large collections of local documents. It runs on your computer without sending your data to the internet. The software uses modern hardware to process text files and answers questions about them. You can use it to organize information or find specific facts within thousands of pages in seconds.
Your computer needs specific parts to run this software well. Please check your system against this list:
- Processor: Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 or better.
- Memory: 8 gigabytes of RAM or more.
- Storage: 2 gigabytes of free space for the program and models.
- Operating System: Windows 10 or Windows 11.
- Network: An internet connection for the initial download.
Follow these steps to set up the software on your Windows computer.
- Visit the releases page to see available downloads.
- Look for the file ending in .exe that matches your Windows version.
- Click the link to save the file to your computer.
- Locate the file in your Downloads folder once the transfer finishes.
- Double-click the file to start the setup process.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to finish the installation.
- Click the new TurboRag icon on your desktop to open the program.
The software saves search data locally. You need to tell it where to look for your documents. Open the application and navigate to the Settings menu. Here you can point the tool to the folders containing your text files or PDFs. The tool will scan these folders and create a map of the content. This process happens once. Large folders take more time to scan.
