First off, apologies for the delay. We have both been busy with our personal lives and did not get to this until now. I love how this looks and think it is a great improvement, so thanks for putting this together! I made a few changes directly on your branch to refine the animation a bit and to make sure the build and tests pass which I hope you do not mind. I added two recordings below for comparison. The difference is subtle but personally I like the fact that the animation is a bit bouncier now and less static(?).
