Translations for Newsletter #31 (2026-07-15).

Translates to all 9 supported languages:

Languages: de, es, fr, it, ja, ko, nl, pt, zh

References: #111

One commit per language, so each language is a self-contained checkpoint and can be reviewed or reverted on its own.

Verification

  • Character encoding checked per language: umlauts, accents, kana/kanji, Hangul, Simplified Chinese with Chinese punctuation. No ASCII substitutes.
  • Technical terms preserved in English: project names, NIP numbers, pubkey/npub/relay/kind/zap, Bitcoin and Lightning terms, code blocks.
  • Internal topic links use the target-language prefix. Checked for leaks to /en/ or /es/ across every translated file; none found.
  • Intra-page anchor slugs kept in English, matching the convention used by every prior issue.
  • Deep Dive example JSON kept verbatim; only surrounding prose translated.
  • hugo --buildFuture builds clean. All 10 languages render, including the 8 new nl and zh topic pages.

Translation previously ran as a detached background process with no
checkpointing, so a gateway restart or API timeout killed the run with no
status and no way to resume. Newsletter #31 lost its translation run twice
this way.

This adds the deterministic half of the workflow:

status <date> per-language view of what is missing (resume point)
  verify <lang> <date> files, cross-language link leaks, translated-ness
commit <lang> <date> verify then commit one language (a checkpoint)

Generation stays an LLM step. Everything around it is now scripted, so a
crash loses at most one language and 'status' says exactly where to resume.

Verified against all 9 languages of #31 (all pass), plus negative tests for
a missing topic page, an untranslated English copy, and a cross-language
link leak (all correctly detected).
