Network alpha delivery tracker #23

Description

@almogdepaz

Goal

Launch the first Veil network as a centralized, faucet-only public alpha with independently replaying verifier replicas and Chia testnet checkpoints.

Trust and scope

  • unaudited WIP research; no real funds
  • one sequencer; replicas detect divergence but do not provide BFT consensus
  • local SP1 proving
  • faucet test asset only
  • no XCH/CAT bridge, offers, settlement, or mainnet activation

Delivery gates

  • slice 0 — reproducible repository, required CI, truthful docs, governance
  • slice 1 — typed proof journal and canonical-root validator contract
  • slice 2 — deterministic persistent ledger
  • slice 3 — runnable local faucet node
  • slice 4 — real SP1 private transfer through node API
  • slice 5 — two independent follower replicas match state roots
  • slice 6 — wallet scan, recovery, and spend
  • slice 7 — Chia testnet checkpoint publisher and watcher
  • slice 8 — canary, 1,000 real-proof transactions, restore drills, public alpha

Baseline follow-up

  • replace the legacy CLVMZkSimulator::mint_cat argument list with the existing typed MintData request shape; the temporary targeted clippy expectation must not enter the network API

The baseline PR will add docs/network-protocol-v1.md, docs/architecture.md, and the detailed .plans/ acceptance sequence. Every slice stops for explicit acceptance before the next begins.
