There is an issue where the "Block Reels and Shorts" feature behaves like a complete app blocker once the designated daily timer expires, rather than surgically blocking only the short-form video feed.
Steps to Reproduce:
-
Enable the Block Reels and Shorts limit for Instagram within the Mindful app.
-
Set a short daily time limit (e.g., 5 or 10 minutes) for Shorts/Reels.
-
Open Instagram and use the Reels section until the daily time limit is reached and the block triggers.
-
Close Instagram, and then attempt to reopen it to use non-restricted features (such as Direct Messages / Inbox or the standard Feed).
Expected Behavior:
Once the Shorts/Reels timer is depleted, the user should still be able to open Instagram, view their home feed, and access/send Direct Messages. The Mindful blocking overlay should only trigger and close the app if the user actively navigates to or taps on the Reels/Shorts tab inside Instagram.
Actual Behavior:
As soon as the Shorts/Reels timer is exceeded, Mindful blocks the entire Instagram app from launching at all. Attempting to open the app to read or send messages immediately triggers the blocking overlay, treating the limit as if the overall Instagram app-timer has run out rather than just the specific Shorts timer.
Device & OS Info:
Device: Motorola Moto g54 5G (XT2343-6)
OS: Android 15 (Rooted with Magisk)
Mindful App Version: 1.3.5
I'm not a developer myself or someone who knows code like you guys do but I just game across this issue I'll even leave the log down below although I checked it myself and it says that there is nothing wrong as much as I can understand.

- Thank you have a great day/night 😊
