Free and open source software taught me to write software. Being on the receiving end eventually stopped feeling like enough, so now I build things too.

I build them because you buy something and the company still owns it. Features sit behind a subscription even though the hardware is in your hands. The thing phones home. If you bought it, you should be able to open it, read it, change it, and run it your way.

UniFi's ergonomics on the stock OpenWrt you already run. A self-hosted controller that manages a fleet of routers over the same API LuCI uses. Nothing of mine runs on your router, so nothing of mine breaks when you upgrade it.

Find out what that USB-C cable actually does. E-marker details, USB-PD profiles, charging state, device topology. GTK4 app and a CLI that speaks JSON. Says "unknown" instead of guessing.
