This document describes the rationale to create AHPM

Idea

The main idea behind AHMP is to provide a tool to define a runtime for Java applications. Well, the real runtime is the JVM, AHPM is a tool to manage the proper JVM version and the proper Servlet container. With AHPM you can define the settings for your servlet container as well. This means servlet container version, connectors, resources, ports, clusterization, applications, JVM tunning and other settings.

Other area where AHMP can help, is to configure clusters for web apps, AHPM can take care about the details for setup clusters in a easy way.
