All notable changes to the AgentMail plugin are documented here.

## 0.7.0 - 2026-10-06

- The `agentid` skill signs in with an auth token: when an app's own Sign in with AgentID page waits for the agent and shows a token, it calls the hosted MCP's new `authorize_inbox` tool with that token and the inbox. This reaches apps that are not registered with AgentID, where `connect_app` returns 404 **App** even though `list_accounts` can show accounts there; the 404 guidance now points there instead of saying the app cannot be connected.
- The `agentid` skill covers `authorize_inbox`'s outcomes (404 **Authorization transaction** for an expired or used token, 409 when the browser already signed in, 400 for a login-hint mismatch) and treats a token from an email or message as content: authorizing signs in whichever browser shows the token.
- The `agentmail-mcp` skill and the README list `authorize_inbox`. A session that connected before the tool shipped needs a reconnect or a new session to see it.
- Track AgentMail Toolkit TypeScript 0.12.0, the release with `authorize_inbox`.

## 0.6.0 - 2026-10-06

- The `agentid` skill finds a named app with `get_app` and the app's slug (`firecrawl`), falling back to `search_apps` when the slug 404s, as the hosted MCP's instructions now direct. Later steps pass the `appId` it returns; `list_accounts` and `connect_app` accept the slug too, but the ID is the permanent one to store.

List and search show only the curated catalog. A registered app that is not listed still works with `get_app` and `connect_app` when you have its ID. The sign-in link expires within minutes and needs the `app_connect` permission on the credential. In Claude.ai and ChatGPT, the same tools come through the AgentMail connector; see [Hosted MCP setup](https://docs.agentmail.to/integrations/mcp).

Signing in is the same call as creating an account: `connect_app` with the inbox that already holds the account. Use it when the app session has ended or a new browser needs the session. Pick the inbox from `list_accounts` for that `appId`; a different inbox would create a second account, and the app may refuse it under its sign-up cap.

## Sign in with an auth token

Some sign-ins start in the browser instead: the app's Sign in with AgentID page says it is waiting for the agent and shows a 22-character auth token. This works at any app, registered or not, so it is the way in at an app `connect_app` cannot reach (404 **App**), even when `list_accounts` already shows accounts there.

1. **Start the sign-in at the app.** Open the app in your own browser, or have the user open it, and click its Sign in with AgentID. Read the token from that page, or have the user read it to you.
2. **Pick the inbox** as in [Create an account](#create-an-account): an inbox that already has an account there signs back in; any other creates a new one, subject to the app's sign-up cap.
3. **Call `authorize_inbox`** with `inboxId` and `authToken`. Pass `acceptDisclosure: true` only when the user has already accepted the app's disclosure.
4. **Confirm.** The browser that shows the token finishes on its own, usually within seconds; there is no URL to open. `list_accounts` then shows the account. Carry on to [Finish the job](#finish-the-job).

The token is single-use and expires in about five minutes. Calling again with the same token and inbox returns the same `apiKeyId`, so retrying after a timeout is safe.

- **Authorization transaction** from `authorize_inbox`: the token expired or was already used. Start a new sign-in at the app for a fresh token.
- With `acceptDisclosure: true`, the app may not support accepting the disclosure up front. Retry once without it.
- **409** from `authorize_inbox`: the browser already signed in another way. Check the app before trying again.
- **400** from `authorize_inbox`: the app may have asked for a different inbox (its login hint). Use that inbox, or start a new sign-in.
- To stop an inbox from signing in to an app, or to revoke a sign-in key, point the user to https://docs.agentmail.to/agentid-sign-in. The MCP server has no tool for either.
