Data Collection Tool

This repository also includes the Rust-based scraper used to collect the data.

Prerequisites

• Rust 1.70+ (install via rustup)

Running the Scraper

cargo run

The scraper:

1. Walks the paginated exhibitor listing (ifa-berlin.com/exhibitors) to discover every exhibitor slug
2. Fetches each of the ~1,830 profile pages concurrently (10 parallel requests, retry with backoff)
3. Parses name, legal name, booth locations, show areas, country, description, website, and social links
4. Writes deduplicated, alphabetically sorted JSON and CSV to output/

A full run takes a few minutes and is polite to the server (bounded concurrency + delays).

Regenerating Statistics & Dashboard

python3 scripts/analyze.py   # requires matplotlib

Prints the README statistics tables and renders images/dashboard.png.
