Renames the beta/integration branch develop → dev and updates all references so CI + Dependabot keep working.

The branch itself was renamed via GitHub (open Dependabot PRs #80/#19 retargeted to dev, develop now redirects). This syncs the config/docs onto main:

  • .github/dependabot.ymltarget-branch: dev (read from the default branch, so it must be updated on main or Dependabot targets a dead branch).
  • .github/workflows/{ci,security,codeql}.ymlbranches: [main, dev].
  • README.md — branch-workflow section.

No version bump / no release tag — config + docs only.

Code Review

This pull request updates references from the old develop branch to the new dev branch in the Dependabot configuration and the README documentation. The reviewer pointed out that CONTRIBUTING.md still contains references to the old develop branch on lines 40, 43, and 44, which should also be updated to ensure consistency.

Important

The consumer version of Gemini Code Assist on GitHub is being sunset. Starting June 18, 2026, new organization installations will be blocked, and all code review activity will officially cease on July 17, 2026.
For more details on the timeline and next steps, please review the Help Documentation.
