Changelog

Sourced from pay's changelog.

11.2.2

  • Fix Stripe subscriptions.renewing webhook to use the correct account when retrieving the price

11.2.1

  • Replace owner association with delegate since has_one :through doesn't work with polymorphic belongs_to without a source_type

11.2.0

  • Add has_one :owner, through: :customer assocation to Pay::Charge, Pay::Subscription and Pay::PaymentMethod for convenience.

11.1.3

  • Fix Stripe Charge#refund! to allow no arguments and default to refunding the full amount.

11.1.2

  • Fix Stripe InvoicePayment syncing for old Charges without payment_intent attribute #1183

11.1.1

  • Add retry to Pay::Stripe.sync_checkout_session Subscriptions aren't instantly attached to a Checkout Session, so this retry gives a chance for completion. This helps build a more seamless experience when redirecting after a successful checkout so the next page knows the user has subscribed successfully.

11.1.0

  • Add text parts to emails

11.0.1

  • Fix release

11.0.0

  • [Breaking] Renames pay_customer associations for charges and subscriptions to prevent conflicts To upgrade, add the pay_ prefix when referencing associations.

    @user.pay_subscriptions
    @user.pay_charges
  • on_trial? and trial_ended? now consider if a Pay::Subscription was canceled. #1172

  • Stripe cancel_now! no longer sets trial_ends_at when there was no trial #1172

  • Stripe cancel and cancel_now! set values from the API response to match the values when syncing via webhooks. #1172

  • Stripe Subscription#sync now sets trial_ends_at to nil if the API response is also nil. #1172 Previously, it would leave the value unmodified in the database but this ensures the value is always in sync with the Stripe API.

  • Braintree subscriptions that cancel_now! now consider their trial ended immediately to match.

Upgrade guide

Upgrade Guide

Follow this guide to upgrade older Pay versions. These may require database migrations and code changes.

Pay 11

Associations on Pay models have been renamed to use the pay_ prefix.

# old
@user.charges
# new
@user.pay_charges
old
@user.subscriptions
new
@user.pay_subscriptions

Pay 10.1

Pay now uses the Stripe charge.updated webhook to save Charge balance transactions. Make sure you're sending this webhook to keep these records up-to-date.

Pay 9.0 to Pay 10.0

Pay has introduced an object column on pay_customers pay_charges and pay_subscriptions to save a full copy of the Stripe objects to make future changes easier.

rails pay:install:migrations
rails db:migrate

Pay 7.0 to Pay 8.0

Pay has moved to using Single Table Inheritance to handle each payment processor's functionality. To do this, we've provided a migration to update the existing records.

rails pay:install:migrations
rails db:migrate

The PaymentMethod#type column has been renamed to payment_method_type to prevent conflicting with STI. If you're displaying payment method details, you'll need to update your views to use the new column name.

Pay 6.0 to Pay 7.0

Pay 7 introduces some changes for Stripe and requires a few additional columns.

rails g migration UpgradeToPay7
</tr></table>
