Summary
Prepare the maintainer-requested npm 0.4.9 security hotfix after #184. Document that Node ^22.23.4 || ^24.22.1 is required and older patches are no longer supported. A package update does not upgrade Node. Windows standalone remains 0.5.0.
Use the one-release Conventional Commit override
Release-As: 0.4.9on merge to let Release Please regenerate #185, rather than manually modifying generated version/changelog files or publishing the currently proposed 1.0.0. The explicit patch selection does not hide the compatibility change. #186 is excluded.Validation
macOS arm64 / Node 24.22.1: npm ci, type-check, lint, tests (291 total: 288 passed, 3 Linux-only skipped), package smoke, diff check, full audit and runtime-only audit passed. Both audits report zero vulnerabilities. #184 main CI also passed. Runtime source and safety behavior are unchanged. No release has yet been published by this PR.
