I'm a Computer Engineering senior at UC Santa Cruz (GPA 3.86, graduating June 2028) and a Software Engineer at the Tech4Good Lab, where I build a React/Node.js platform used by 50+ people across campus organizations. Before that I led production technology at UCSC's Performing Arts Technology Studio (embedded systems, live-event tech) and interned at Laney College's STEM Robotics Lab, building an autonomous color-sorting robot that hit ~95% accuracy.
I like high-stakes software: backend systems, infrastructure, and AI agents — places where correctness and reliability actually matter.
Python · C · C++ · JavaScript / TypeScript · Assembly · Verilog (FPGA) · React · Next.js · Node.js · FastAPI · REST APIs · SQL / PostgreSQL · Docker · Git · Linux
AgentCheck — An autonomous job-hunting system in Python/FastAPI. Seven specialized agents split the work — discovering jobs, scoring fit, drafting outreach, and running application workflows — with confidence thresholds deciding what goes out on its own and what waits for me.
PolicyPulse — A live map of the real bills moving around you (Congress.gov + OpenStates on a 3D map), plus a simulator that builds a Census-grounded digital twin of your community and shows who a policy helps and who it hurts — before anyone votes. Next.js/TypeScript, Mastra AI agents, Redis.
Continuum — A real-time knowledge graph of what a team is working on: an Electron app captures work context on-device, a persistent AI agent per person keeps it organized, and a Next.js dashboard draws the connections live as they form. TypeScript, Supabase/pgvector, D3.
Newton — An FPGA project in Verilog on a Xilinx BASYS3 board: digital logic designed, simulated, and run on real hardware.
Data Structures & Algorithms in C/C++ — List and graph ADTs, BFS and strongly connected components, sparse matrices, arbitrary-precision integers, and BST + red-black tree dictionaries. Every structure implemented node by node, with my own test drivers.
Systems Programming in C — A linked-list text editor, a Wordle game and solver, a stack-based calculator, and a hash-table business database, each with the design doc I wrote before coding it.
These started as ideas in my notes. I'm building them one by one — first working versions, all open source:
Gods Wisdom — A wisdom verse for every day of the year, browsable by theme when you need a specific kind of encouragement.
Catholic Mezmur — An organizer for Eritrean Catholic mezmur: Tigrinya titles, transliterations, and meanings, sorted by feast and season so a hymn is easy to find before Mass.
Temporary Pictures Sharing — Share a photo with a link and it deletes itself after 15 minutes. No ads, no account, works on any device.
Lost & Found Rewards — A board for lost IDs and items with a reward for whoever brings them back.
Selam Restaurant — A website for an Eritrean/Ethiopian restaurant: full menu, story, and hours.
Meharena Trucking — A clean one-page site for a trucking company, with a quote-request form.
Portfolio — My portfolio: experience, projects, and the stack I work in.
Menu Snap Recommendations — Photo a restaurant menu, get dish recommendations with pictures, matched to your budget and taste.
Campus Move-Out Exchange — Students moving out sell furniture and dorm stuff to students moving in — cheaper for everyone, less in the landfill.
Laundry On Demand — Schedule a laundry pickup, pick your services, track your order.
Mezmur Voice Detector — Point it at a Tigrinya or Amharic song or mezmur recording and it works on telling you what it is. Early build.
Tigrinya Voice Translator — A phrasebook translator for English, Tigrinya, and Amharic that types what you say and speaks the translation back.
Catholic Eritrean Church — A website for an Eritrean Catholic parish: Mass times, community, and mezmur.
Loyal Tees — Printable motivational and Bible-verse shirts in English and Tigrinya. Be loyal to your future, not your past.
Rangers Coding Club — The refreshed site for the coding club where I first learned to build: lessons, projects, and how to join.
