I lead the Cloud & AI practice at an SAP Gold Partner consultancy — accountable for revenue, capability and delivery quality across Australia, New Zealand and an offshore delivery centre — while staying hands-on as an enterprise solutions architect. Over 11 years I've helped enterprises modernise how they build: cloud platform strategy and governance, monolith-to-microservices transformation, integration architecture across SAP and non-SAP landscapes, and generative AI embedded into real business workflows.

Format: the problem, what I did, what changed.
The problem. Enterprise content teams producing product copy, imagery, translations and SEO metadata manually — slow, inconsistent, expensive. What I did. Designed and led the build of a GenAI extension embedded directly into the commerce content workflow (SmartEdit), on Amazon Bedrock with API Gateway, Lambda and a least-privilege IAM security model. Ran customer workshops on enterprise AI adoption and long-term AI/ML strategy. What changed. Content teams generate brand-aligned copy, images from prompts, translations and SEO keywords inside the tool they already use — with enterprise security and cost controls, not a proof-of-concept in a sandbox.
The problem. A hybrid SAP BTP landscape spanning Sovereign Cloud and Commercial Cloud, with live delivery pressure (driver mobility, integration, spatial services) and no settled tenancy, workload-placement or cost-governance model. What I did. Advised platform, integration, security, mobility and enterprise architecture teams on tenancy structure, environment separation, workload placement and cost control — balancing immediate delivery against a scalable platform direction across transport management and S/4HANA scenarios. What changed. Clearer platform decision-making, reduced delivery friction, and a defensible foundation for future integration and mobility initiatives.
The problem. An enterprise heading into a major ERP transformation without a settled platform foundation: governance, identity, integration, DevOps and lifecycle management all carried gaps that would surface mid-programme. What I did. Led the foundation assessment across platform governance, identity services, integration, DevOps and lifecycle management; brought clean-core principles, API-first integration and cost transparency into the decision frame; led executive playbacks converting findings into current-state risks, target-state options and a practical transition path. What changed. A structured platform foundation and materially higher confidence in the transformation roadmap — before the programme started paying for the gaps.
The problem. Platform adoption without settled governance in a regulated environment: account structure, identity, legacy Neo exposure, and an ageing PI/PO integration estate. What I did. Led the assessment across account governance, identity services, lifecycle management and integration modernisation readiness (PI/PO → Integration Suite); shaped recommendations covering regulatory separation, ownership clarity, security compliance and cost transparency. What changed. A clear target-state governance model with owned, sequenced transition steps — and stakeholders who understand their integration modernisation options.
The problem. Customer service fragmented across ServiceNow, CRM, S/4HANA and field service tools: manual handoffs, duplicated data, limited visibility — and a platform decision with major cost implications. What I did. Analysed the fragmented process landscape, quantified the business impacts, and delivered a total-cost-of-ownership comparison and options assessment connecting each platform choice to operating-model impact, integration effort and business value. What changed. A decision frame the executive team could actually use: options, costs, trade-offs and a future-state service architecture direction.
The problem. Supplier collaboration run on spreadsheets: pack plans, actualised forecasts, planned packing requirements, fruit purchase orders and quality reporting — fragmented, manual, ungoverned. What I did. Shaped the end-to-end portal architecture on SAP BTP: identity model, supplier-scoped authorisation, role-based access, API contracts and integration design. Guided functional, technical and testing teams through solution clarification, SIT and cutover readiness. What changed. A governed digital portal model replacing spreadsheet processes, with reusable platform foundations for the wider supplier digital roadmap.
The problem. A transactional claims portal with usability and performance limits, single-claim submission driving support overhead. What I did. Led architecture and cross-functional delivery (frontend, backend, QA, integration) of the reimagined portal on SAP Commerce; introduced guided validation for delivery search and claims creation; drove the shift from single- to multi-claim submission; advised the evolution towards a full customer portal. What changed. Faster, more accurate claim submission, reduced support overhead, and a platform positioned for broader customer self-service.
The problem. Purchase-order management from remote construction sites on a legacy app: manual processing, delays, no offline capability. What I did. Led design and delivery of a mobile PO management app (SAP MDK) integrated with S/4HANA; defined MVP scope; ran agile delivery, soft launch and feedback-driven refinement with a hybrid FAIR/client team. What changed. Field teams raise and approve POs from site — including offline — in a high-performing, low-maintenance app.
The problem. Native SAP Commerce Cloud (CCv2) CI/CD limits: no independent deployments for backend, frontend and microservices; limited quality gates. What I did. Architected a multi-tenant SaaS CI/CD offering on AWS — Control Tower, Organizations, CodePipeline, CodeBuild, Step Functions, Lambda — with security scanning, code-quality gates, automated testing and event-driven operations (SNS, EventBridge), governed by Security Hub, Config and budget guardrails. What changed. Enterprise commerce customers deploy independently, faster and more safely than native tooling allows.
The problem. A complex multi-cloud estate (SAP ERP, Microsoft CRM, BizTalk, bespoke e-commerce) with fragmented identity, product data and customer onboarding. What I did. Enterprise architecture across self-service, digital identity, customer master, pricing and content. Designed the Azure AD B2C enterprise login for all digital applications; automated customer onboarding with SAP BTP and Azure; designed event-driven SAP Commerce↔AWS integration (API Gateway, Lambda, SNS/SQS, DynamoDB, SES, SAM, X-Ray); orchestrated product data migration into the commerce PIM via SAP Integration Suite; guided the platform migration from AWS to Azure. What changed. Modernised onboarding, unified identity, governed product data — and an architecture the internal team could run.
The problem. Manual sales and service processes; a customer portal disconnected from ERP pricing, availability and quotas. What I did. Led a 10+ onshore/offshore team; architected quote-to-cash across SAP Commerce, BTP, C4C and ECC via Integration Suite with real-time price/ATP checks; implemented OpenID security across the storefront and platform services; built reusable multi-channel notification extensions. What changed. A connected quote-to-order-to-cash flow and a team upskilled in the standards that keep it maintainable.
Led and built large-scale commerce and enterprise application delivery across Woolworths, BIG W, Mitre 10, SiteOne, NAPA and EIS: monolith-to-microservices transformation on AWS (EKS, ECS, Lambda) inside 40+ person agile squads; technical lead (team of 7) for a unified B2B portal with an Azure-based integration layer; led a team of 9 delivering a US B2B portal from scratch; built an Azure landing-zone prototype on everything-as-code principles (Terraform, Terragrunt, AKS, FluxCD, GitOps) adopted for customer delivery.
