Summary

  • Found via live testing right after template-catalog-v2 (PR Add project-template delete + three new built-in templates #36) shipped: "Customize Template" only showed a toast notification and silently refreshed the tree, with no other visible feedback — easy to miss, and the tree change isn't visible unless "Project" happens to already be expanded.
  • Now opens the created template.json after success, matching how "Insert Template Into…" already opens its result document.
  • Extension-only fix; standalone's Templates tab already re-renders the table visibly in place, so no change needed there.

Test plan

  • npm run verify green across all five workspaces.
  • Updated commands.test.ts's customize test to assert the manifest is opened (openTextDocument/showTextDocument called with the right path); 27/27 extension tests passing.

"Customize Template" only showed a toast notification and silently
refreshed the tree, with no other visible feedback — easy to miss/
dismiss, and the tree change isn't visible unless "Project" happens to
already be expanded. Now opens the created template.json as unmistakable
proof, matching how "Insert Template Into..." already opens its result.
