SalatTime (WIP)

A JavaFX application which displays the user's local prayer times for a specified location.

Planned Features (short -> long term)

• display prayer times & how long till the next one
• changes based on user's location & timezone -switch between shafi/hanafi for asr time calculation
• Light/dark mode toggle
• Fullscreen mode
• Mobile App port with Kotlin

Roadmap

Short Term

• display prayer times
  • calculate it with java classes ✅
• display the current time, make sure its accurate
  • hardcode GMT timezone, birmingham, for now
  • A library probably does this
  • show how long it'll take until prayer time
• use javafx to make a gui

Long Term

• add option to switch between shafi and hanafi
• Show how long it'll take until prayer time
• users could input their basic location (city/country) to calculate prayer time data
  • Maybe an API could help with this
  • Or could be grabbed from user’s system along with timezone
• Things for settings section:
  • Light/dark mode toggle
  • Toggle seconds view
  • Toggle day/month/year order
• (VERY LONG TERM) convert to mobile app
  • use spring with kotlin
