Feature request: RAM and SSD temperature monitoring
Currently the RAM block displays static memory frequency information. While it looks good visually, in practice it doesn't provide much monitoring value during gameplay or benchmarking.
I would like to suggest an option to display RAM module temperatures instead of memory frequency values.
For users running memory overclocks or stress testing, DIMM temperatures are much more useful because they allow monitoring of thermal behavior during long gaming sessions and benchmarks.
In addition, SSD temperatures would also be very useful to monitor, since some modern games with heavy asset streaming can significantly heat up NVMe drives.
Example data sources:
- SSD temperatures can already be obtained from RTSS built-in sensors.
- RAM temperatures can be obtained from HWiNFO shared memory.
I understand that system configurations vary:
- 1 to 4 RAM modules
- 1 to multiple SSDs
and I don't currently have a good idea how this could be scaled elegantly within the existing visual design.
Attached screenshots show my local customization:
- HWiNFO running (DIMM temperatures available)
- HWiNFO disabled (DIMM sensors unavailable)
Here is an example of how useful DIMM and SSD temperatures look in practice compared to static memory frequency information.
Perhaps this could be implemented as an optional alternative mode for the RAM block rather than replacing the current frequency display entirely.
Thank you for the great overlay project and all the work you've put into it.
