IPC Bloodstreams:

Why

  • IPCs ignore pretty much all the game mechanics that the server has to offer. They don't eat, they don't breathe, they don't take space damage, they don't take poison damage, and they have no blood.

Concerns

  • We don't want to nerf them into the ground or take from IPCs unique identity.

Implementation

  • Thus, IPC "bloodstreams". This would give a way for IPCs to interact with blood loss damage.

  • A new reagent, possible derivative or upgrade of space lube. Oil or straight-up space lube not be beneficial due to the slipping or flammable hazards. We don't to make simply bleeding a major hazard.

  • IPCs would not injectable, but you would be able to repair blood loss damage through nanite applicators or splashing 'IPC blood' or water onto them. Blood bags do not work on them.

  • Welding would repair bleeding. As IPCs lose blood, certain actions such as do-afters become longer.

  • IPCs would have an above-average self blood healing rate compared to organic species. They will also not take blood loss damage as much as other species.

Conclusion

  • This would give IPCs the ability to interact with things that cause blood loss such as cultist NPCs. While they would be more resistant to it, they would not be immune.

  • Figuring out a way to make this bloodstream change more a buff would be great, possibly with interactions from the IPC blood reagent.
