Summary

  • Ship compiled runtime files in Git checkouts.
  • Stop npm from treating the repository as a package that needs Git dependency preparation.
  • Verify committed build output in CI and the release workflow.
  • Cover the package metadata contract that prevents install-time compiler downloads.

Why

npm prepares Git dependencies when package scripts include names such as build, prepack, or prepare. That caused the GitHub install command to install development dependencies and run TypeScript on the user's machine. On a clean system, the install failed because tsc was unavailable.

Validation

  • Clean offline Git install with an empty npm cache
  • Installed CLI version and Codex hook setup
  • Generated hook capture into an isolated Agent LCM store
  • Daemon start, stats, and stop
  • npm test: 307 passed
  • Smoke test, typecheck, package dry run, and build-output freshness checks
