Dismissable missed-dose notification, info page, debug version suffix - #22
Missed-dose notification: swiping it away now discards those doses, so it stops coming back. A dose missed later still notifies, and history keeps discarded doses as missed. The Today screen only lists today, so older missed doses previously could not be cleared at all.
Info page: version, source link that opens GitHub, license, and a "not a medical device" note. Tapping Version 10 times shows a joke, with a rare alternative line.
Debug builds: now report X.Y.Z-debug. The suffix only changes the name, so a debug build still updates the same app.
Snackbars: dark instead of the default bright white.
Android's Google backup: now opt-in, through a switch on the Backup & restore page. A backup agent applies the choice, since allowBackup is fixed at build time. The user's own backup folder is unchanged.
Docs: dose times, dose logs and the phone model removed from AGENTS.md.
Tested on the real phone: the swipe stays gone after reopening the app, a debug update keeps data, and the GitHub link, the joke and the darker snackbars work. Not yet seen on the phone: a dose missed after a swipe notifying again (unit-tested only), and the Google backup switch and agent (the switch is widget-tested only; the agent has no test).
Added an Info page with the app version, source-code link, license, data-storage information, and medical-device disclaimer.
Added optional Android Google backup, disabled by default, with a setting to enable or disable it. Android controls when backups run; disabling backup does not remove existing Google copies.
Debug builds now display “-debug” in the app version.
Bug Fixes
Outstanding-dose notifications can now be dismissed by swiping. Doses that become overdue after dismissal can still trigger notifications.
Updated notification descriptions to reflect that reminders can be dismissed.
The Today screen only lists today, so a dose missed on an earlier day could
never be marked taken or skipped. It stayed pending forever and the notification
came back on every app open, even after being swiped away.
A swipe now records which doses that notification covered. Those never bring it
back, doses missed later still do, and the history keeps them as missed.

Bump to 1.1.0. The page reads the version from Android, so it matches App info.
Debug builds now report 1.1.0-debug, using a name-only suffix: an application id
suffix would install as a separate, empty app.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Hand off to the browser with an intent, so release builds still need no network
permission. Also tapping Version 10 times now shows a joke, and bump to 1.1.1.

The app adds swipe dismissal for outstanding-dose notifications, an Info page, and optional Android Google backup. The package version changes to 1.1.7+9, and debug builds append -debug to the version name. Project documentation and widget tests also change.
The scheduler filters missed doses using the saved dismissal timestamp and sends the notification’s shown-at timestamp through the bridge. Android records that timestamp when the notification is swiped away. Tests cover dismissal timing and the missed-dose grace period.

The package version changes to 1.1.7+9, and debug builds append -debug to the version name. The app bar opens an Info page with version, source-link, license, data-storage, and medical-device information. Tests cover the page and version-tap messages.
A marker file stores the Google Backup setting. The backup agent performs full backup only when the setting is enabled and attempts to rearm alarms after restore. Backup rules exclude app_flutter from cloud backup and device transfer.

Merge Risk: Moderate · up to 241f7
The new opt-in Google backup works in the common case. Edge cases remain: turning the switch off may fail silently, and an opted-out backup run could replace an earlier restorable copy. Reminders may also stay unarmed after a restore until the app is opened. These affect a medication app's reliability, so address or knowingly accept them before merging.
Security architecture risk: Moderate · up to 241f7
Backup is off by default, but a failed opt-out can leave medications and history eligible for new Android backups while the switch displays off. This affects the app’s data on that installation and depends on Android backup being enabled. Copies already uploaded cannot be withdrawn by this setting.
Retained concerns
Medium · security · observed: The new backup opt-out can acknowledge revocation without enforcing it. If deletion of an existing consent marker fails, the setter still completes successfully and the switch displays off, but the agent continues permitting subsequent full backups of eligible health data. This breaks the new agreement between displayed consent and export authorization.
Security review details
Security Blast Radius
inferred — The revocation failure affects all eligible app data on the installation, potentially including the complete medication database and history, rather than one dose. Continued copying requires an existing opt-in marker, unsuccessful removal, and a subsequent Android backup operation. The destination follows the device’s configured backup transport and account; broader cross-application or cross-tenant authority is not established.
Security Findings and Attack Paths
observed — The retained finding is supported by a static control-failure path: an unsuccessful marker deletion is ignored, native code returns success, the switch displays the requested off state, and the remaining marker still authorizes full backup. This establishes a conditional privacy failure, not an observed upload or a demonstrated remote attacker trigger. Reloading the page rereads the marker and can reveal the discrepancy, but does not revoke authorization.
Trust Boundaries and Controls
observed — The relevant export boundary is from app-private health data into Android-managed backup. The agent is registered through the application backupAgent attribute rather than an exported intent component, and consent mutations arrive through the Flutter engine’s method channel. Public callback classifications therefore do not by themselves establish attacker-controlled invocation or permission gain.
Resilience and Maintainability Implications
observed — The agent checks authorization once at full-backup entry. Removing the marker changes authorization for later invocations but supplies no application-level cancellation of an already-started backup. Existing-copy retention is disclosed; the precise completion boundary for concurrent disable and backup remains dependent on Android execution behavior.
Hardening Proposals
proposed — Make revocation completion depend on verified persisted state: treat unsuccessful removal of an existing marker as failure, refresh the switch from authoritative state, and exercise deletion failure, interruption, and repeated transitions. Define separately what disabling means for a backup already in progress and for previously uploaded copies.

Unverified finding
Verification ran but could not confirm this finding. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.
Handle a failed Google-backup setting read.
If BackupBridge.googleBackupEnabled() throws, _load never assigns the folder status. The page stays on its loading indicator. The same unhandled channel error can occur when the switch calls setGoogleBackupEnabled at Line 211. Catch these errors, show a failure message, and keep the folder controls available when its status loaded successfully. As per retrieved learnings: “Before flagging an unguarded async call, check whether its errors are deliberately propagated and handled by the caller”; neither call has such a handler.

Unverified finding
Verification ran but could not confirm this finding. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.
Describe alarm restoration as best-effort.
GoogleBackupAgent.onRestoreFinished() wraps AlarmScheduler.rearmAll(this) in runCatching, so a failure is swallowed and restore can finish without re-arming alarms. Change “the agent re-arms alarms” to “the agent attempts to re-arm alarms” or document that opening the app is the fallback. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Report a failed Google backup opt-out.
File.delete() can return false when an existing marker cannot be removed. It can also return false when the marker is already absent, so check the resulting state. Handle failures from the Google-backup switch.
File.createNewFile() can throw IOException when the marker cannot be created. The current method-channel branch does not use MainActivity.io, and Flutter only converts uncaught RuntimeException from this handler. The IOException can therefore escape the handler and crash the app.
Use the existing I/O wrapper in MainActivity, and run the switch update through _run. This reports the failure and reloads the persisted setting after the attempt.

Preserve the previous Google backup when the switch is turned off.
The disabled agent sends a no-data full backup. Android stores only the most recent backup and deletes the previous backup when a new backup is made. If Google accepts this run as the new backup, a later restore can lose the saved medications.
Test this on a disposable device and account:
Create a backup.
Disable the backup switch.
Run another backup.
Confirm that the original snapshot remains restorable.

Review comment at @android/app/src/main/AndroidManifest.xml at line 22:
Update the behavior of the .GoogleBackupAgent referenced by android:backupAgent
so disabling the backup switch does not submit a no-data full backup that can
replace the existing snapshot; preserve the previous backup as restorable while
backups are disabled.

Regenerate alarms when the restored registry is stale.
DoseScheduler arms doses only three days ahead. If a backup is restored after those entries have expired, rearmAll removes them and schedules nothing. Reminders then remain silent until the user opens the app. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
Regenerate future doses from the restored schedule, or explicitly require the user to open the app after restore.

Update the restore flow around AlarmScheduler.rearmAll so a stale restored alarm
registry does not leave future reminders unscheduled: regenerate future dose
alarms from the restored schedule, or explicitly require the user to open the
app after restore to trigger that regeneration.

If marker deletion fails, BackupStore ignores the result and this handler reports success. The switch then shows off, but the agent can still copy medication data to Google. Return an error when the requested state was not persisted, and keep the switch on. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Update the Google backup toggle handler around
BackupStore.setGoogleBackupEnabled to detect whether the requested state was
persisted instead of always returning success. Propagate marker-deletion failure
as an error so the caller keeps the switch on when disabling backup fails;
establish and use a persistence result from BackupStore rather than assuming the
request succeeded.

X.Y.Z-debug. The suffix only changes the name, so a debug build still updates the same app.allowBackupis fixed at build time. The user's own backup folder is unchanged.AGENTS.md.Tested on the real phone: the swipe stays gone after reopening the app, a debug update keeps data, and the GitHub link, the joke and the darker snackbars work. Not yet seen on the phone: a dose missed after a swipe notifying again (unit-tested only), and the Google backup switch and agent (the switch is widget-tested only; the agent has no test).
