Software engineering student at Polytechnique Montrรฉal, graduating 2027. I like building things that have to actually stay up โ daemons, infra, native apps โ more than things that just have to demo well.
Most recently I was at Genetec, writing Rust daemons for Edge OS, a Yocto-based Linux distro running on a couple thousand appliances in the field. I built the OTA update path (checksum verification, automatic rollback to a cached last-known-good image), a security audit daemon logging over Unix sockets, and bandwidth throttling for staged transfers.
Before that, I was doing SRE/observability work at Coveo โ defining SLIs and SLOs, wiring up Honeycomb and Grafana, and building an internal observability dashboard (C#/React) that a handful of service teams ended up adopting. Alert volume dropped noticeably once the SLOs were actually enforced instead of implied.
I've also spent time on ML infra (autoscaling and inference optimization at a pre-revenue startup) and mobile (a HIPAA-compliant React Native app for a clinical platform).
๐ธ ShotVault โ a native macOS screenshot manager that OCRs everything on-device with Apple Vision and makes it fuzzy-searchable. The annoying part was FSEvents: it fires duplicate and out-of-order events during rapid writes, so I ended up building a path-claiming/name-lock mechanism to stop the indexer from racing itself. ~30 modules, shared between a CLI and a menu-bar app, 150+ tests.
๐ ClipVault โ same architecture applied to clipboard history. Local-first, sandboxed with security-scoped bookmarks, nothing leaves the machine.
Both are notarized, sandboxed, universal binaries โ not just side projects that happen to run on my machine.
