  • 💡 What: Refactored AdaptiveMemory to reuse a single persistent sqlite3 connection instead of opening/closing on every operation. Enabled WAL mode and synchronous=NORMAL. Added thread safety with threading.RLock.
  • 🎯 Why: The overhead of frequent connection opening/closing was a bottleneck. WAL mode significantly improves write concurrency and performance.
  • 📊 Impact: ~25x speedup in memory storage operations (reduced from ~4.3ms to ~0.17ms per op in benchmarks).
  • 🔬 Measurement: Measured using a micro-benchmark (perf_test_memory.py) adding 100 memories. Existing tests passed.
