💡 What:
Optimized AdaptiveMemory by replacing per-call SQLite connections with thread-local persistent connections. Enabled WAL (Write-Ahead Logging) journal mode and reduced synchronous setting to NORMAL. Refactored all database methods to use context managers (with conn:) for atomic transaction handling.

🎯 Why:
The previous implementation opened and closed the database connection for every single operation (read or write). This introduced significant I/O overhead and latency, especially for frequent memory operations. Additionally, the default journal mode blocked readers during writes.

📊 Impact:

  • Writes: ~5x faster (Benchmark: ~300 -> ~1611 writes/sec)
  • Reads: ~2.4x faster (Benchmark: ~3860 -> ~9294 reads/sec)
  • Concurrency: WAL mode allows concurrent readers and writers.

🔬 Measurement:
Verified using a custom benchmark script measuring bulk insert and read operations. Functional correctness verified via pytest.
