These changes allow Windows users to compile it again as in its current state it is unable to be due to missing libraries and the exclusion of one that appears to be required in order to launch it.
The "amended by johnny bigtrousers" parts don't need to be included, but the fixes would be nice for people looking for this tool since it's a little out of the way to locate the fork I created to fix it.
