🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Clear registration only after a request is attempted, or restore it when the request cannot run.
unregisterAtSignOut sets this.registration = null before it checks accessToken. Sign-out can run with a null access token, for example when the session has already expired. In that case the function returns without a request. The saved token is then lost, and the server keeps the token registered for the old user and department. A later sign-out with a valid token cannot unregister it.
Keep registration when accessToken is null. Clear it only when the request has been attempted. Still call resetRegistration() so the next session registers again.
Proposed fix
- const registration = this.registration;
- this.registration = null;
// The token is coming off the server, so the next session has to register it again.
this.resetRegistration();
- if (!registration || !accessToken) {
+ const registration = this.registration;
+ if (!registration || !accessToken) {
return;
}
+ this.registration = null;The trade-off: a stale registration may then be retried on a later sign-out. That is acceptable because the server call is idempotent and quiet on failure.
