Quick Start

1. Install the native wheel

pip install eidolon-crypto

The eidolon-crypto wheel ships the protected pipeline as a native Rust binary with PyO3 bindings. It is the only required dependency for vault generation and verification.

2. Generate your first vault

The pipeline produces a .psnx file (compressed key material) and a .blend_data file (holographic entropy + signatures). Both files are required to unlock the vault.

3. Run the public test suite

The public test suite validates the wheel's API against the documented contracts (post-quantum keys, Merkle proofs, secret sharing, ZKP).


Features

Holographic Key Derivation

Vault keys are produced by a proprietary multi-stage transformation that expands a CSPRNG master seed into post-quantum cryptographic material. The pipeline combines a holographic entropy capture step, a domain-separated hardening chain and a NIST post-quantum wrap (Kyber + Dilithium), and finishes by anchoring the result inside a Merkle tree for selective disclosure.

Pipeline internals are proprietary and reserved.

Cipher Integration: Sustainable Ecosystem

Eidolon provides the cryptographic backbone for Cipher (post-quantum messaging) through a symbiotic economic model. The live integration is shipping in Cipher v1.3.0.

How It Works

  1. Users authenticate with Eidolon vault (.psnx + .blend_data).
  2. Cipher activity (logins, message sends) generates Resonance deltas.
  3. Realms process ticks distributing Epochs based on tier multipliers.
  4. Epochs vest over time (20% per week) before EIDOLON conversion.
  5. Inactive realms decay, redistributing value to active participants.
  6. Governance voting weight is based on vested epochs.

Spheres are distributed to the first 10,000 vaults with guaranteed minimum rarities:

Every template is unique and immutable — no two vaults share the same sphere. Templates are assigned via Fibonacci-weighted RNG across the first 10,000 vaults, and each sphere_id equals its asset_id (no instance overlay).

Cosmic Cycle Hierarchy

The upper-tier templates follow a derived hierarchy rooted in 8 Cosmic Cycles:

11 Primordial (1 Exotic + 8 Thematic + 2 Echo)
 └─ 58 Genesis
     └─ 360 Mythical
         └─ 720 Legendary

Each Cosmic Cycle is a thematic era (e.g., The Void Cycle, The Quantum Cycle). The 9th Core Primordial — "L'Inconnu" — is an Exotic type that transcends all themes, reserved for Vault #1. The 2 Echo Primordials (The Primordial Echo, The Primordial Reflection) are unique variants derived from cycle intersections.

Runtime Lifecycle

Genesis-era spheres follow a four-state lifecycle after distribution:

DORMANT → EVOLVING → AWAKENED → ASCENDED
  • Dormant: Assigned but inactive (no yield).
  • Evolving: Activation costs 2× base yield in EIDOLON. Caps at 5 concurrent evolution slots per vault. Higher rarities require minimum vault maturity (EEP-001 epoch gates: Rare = 48 eons, Epic = 168, Legendary = 504, Mythical = 840, Genesis = 1,080, Primordial = 1,320).
  • Awakened: Produces daily EIDOLON yield after a 7-day evolution cycle. Yield = base × cycle_quality_mult × state_mult. Cycle quality ranges from Failed (0.5×) to Perfect (1.6×).
  • Ascended: 1.2× state multiplier. Requires 3 successful cycles or 1 perfect cycle, plus an ascension cost in EIDOLON.

Daily base yields (EIDOLON/day): Common 4.0, Uncommon 5.5, Rare 7.0, Epic 8.0, Legendary 12.0, Mythical 18.0, Genesis 28.0, Primordial 42.0.

Quest Spheres (Second Era)

Beyond the 21,186 Genesis instances, a second era of spheres is minted on-demand as quest rewards. Quest spheres use a separate rarity system:

Quest spheres support fusion (3 same-tier → 1 next-tier up the chain Stone → Crystal → Lunar → Stellar → Cosmic), trade with a 10% burn tax, and decay after 30 days of vault inactivity. Twin spheres are non-tradeable artifacts generated from CHSH Bell-test correlation scores between paired vaults.

Sphere ↔ Resonance Bridge

Evolving spheres generate passive Resonance gain per epoch, even without Cipher activity. Hatched/Awakened spheres award a one-shot Resonance bonus. Mythical-or-higher unique sphere counts feed the Rosetta Stone yield bonus eligibility check, coupling the sphere economy directly to the Cipher activity pipeline.

Security Model

Dual-Key Authentication

Neither file alone can unlock the vault. Compromise of one reveals nothing.

Rust Crypto API

The protected cryptographic pipeline is available via the eidolon_crypto native module. All examples below run against the published wheel — no proprietary Python source required.
