This repository uses public APIs to display data on law, poverty, and income inequality. It is fully open with nothing private. The goal is a polished, public-facing data site that makes the relationships between law and economic inequality legible to a general reader.
The repository is currently a Next.js application with D3-based charts, an explorer with control panels and data tables, and a FRED data-fetch script. Pages cover home, about, contact, explore, legal, and methodology. A GitHub Actions workflow deploys it.
Confirm or migrate the stack to Astro with React embedded via Vite, which is the going-forward target for this site. Build out the API-driven data visualizations on law, poverty, and inequality and make the site look excellent. Adopt the shared Oranburg design system (lawj-palette.css and site.css), add a breadcrumb back to oranburg.law, and use the shared footer. This is a low-priority project.
