It's not currently supported but I wouldn't be against a Geyser extension being made to add support for this. That way it supports Geyser Standalone too
How is it planned to update the Extensions?
Delete the old one and add the new one? Would probably work fine.
Might also make sense for Velo, afaik if a plugin is simple once it's loaded it's safe to remove the file. You cannot switch out jars which are directly started trough like the paper jar.
It does require a restart, it's moreso about how the jar files are replaced. In Paper there is an update folder which automatically replaces jars with the updated version from the update folder upon restart. But Geyser extensions doesn't support this

Wait, this plugin reloads the plugins in live, without needing a restart? I never though so
You can achieve this with smt like PlugManX - be adware not all plugins support this and things might break in unsupported plugins or behave weirdly after reload them.

Nah I don't need this, this plugin works great already

Not sure yet, I'm going to do some research, may also make a PR to Geyser for an update folder but will keep progress updated here

Oh. I thought it just detected loaded extensions, looked for the JAR it came from, delete the file, and then download the new version.

Not sure if that's really what ya should do as long it's not really needed 👀

Turns out Geyser supports an update folder so will be natively supported in v5 without any unsafe file replacement
