Budget Tracker

A simple Java console app to track your household budget. Keeps track of your income and expenses, including recurring transactions like rent or salary.

Features

• Add income and expenses
• Set up recurring transactions (like monthly rent or paychecks)
• View your current balance
• Check transactions for any date range
• See how much you're saving or spending over time

Running the App

1. Make sure you have Java installed
2. Run this command in the terminal:

   cd src; javac *.java; cd ..; java -cp . src.Main
   

Or if you prefer step by step:

1. Compile: javac src/*.java
2. Run: java -cp . src.Main

Using the App

Just follow the menu options:

1. Add Income - for money coming in
2. Add Expense - for money going out
3. View All Transactions - see everything you've added
4. View Current Balance - quick check of your money
5. View Balance for Date Range - useful for monthly budgeting
6. Process Recurring Transactions - updates all your recurring stuff
7. Exit - closes the app

FYI

• Use the date format YYYY-MM-DD (like 2025-07-30)
• For recurring transactions, enter the period in days (30 for monthly)
