An animated, privacy-first Windows desktop viewer for local Codex usage limits, 5-hour quota, weekly quota, and reset countdowns.

Codex Quota is an independent open-source community project. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI.

Codex Quota keeps the important numbers visible in a compact Windows Acrylic dashboard: remaining quota, reset countdowns, source status, and observation time. The interface scales from a small always-on-top widget to a full dashboard and supports both light and dark environments.

Why Codex Quota?

Codex shows usage information inside its interface, but a small always-available desktop window is easier to glance at while coding. Codex Quota reads local Codex session data and the local app-server connection. Your quota data stays on your computer.

Privacy

Codex Quota reads only local Codex runtime/session information needed to display usage limits. It does not upload prompts, conversations, account details, or quota data.

Build from source

Requirements:

• Windows 10 or Windows 11
• Node.js 20+
• Rust stable with the MSVC toolchain
• WebView2 Runtime

npm install
npm run tauri build

The installer is generated under src-tauri/target/release/bundle/nsis/.

Development

npm install
npm run tauri dev

Quality checks:

npm run build
cd src-tauri
cargo test
cargo clippy --all-targets -- -D warnings
