OpenComputers connects a computer you own to the MIOSA control plane using the
OSA host agent. The host opens one outbound WebSocket, authenticates with a
one-time oc_host_* key, and then appears in MIOSA as a managed computer.
This repository is the open-source home for the OpenComputers install wrappers, wire protocol, examples, and contribution process. The canonical host agent is OSA, maintained in Miosa-osa/OSA. The MIOSA cloud control plane and web application live in separate repositories.
OpenComputers is in early integration. The supported path is:
- Provision a host in the MIOSA web app.
- Copy the one-time
oc_host_*install command. - Run the command on macOS, Linux, or Windows.
- OSA installs, writes
~/.osa/open_computers.toml, enables host mode, and connects towss://api.miosa.ai/api/v1/opencomputers/hosts/ws.
The protocol and installer are open for review. Alternate host agents are
welcome, but they must implement the protocol in docs/protocol.md.
From MIOSA, open OpenComputers -> Connect a Computer and copy the generated command. It will look like this:
curl -fsSL https://api.miosa.ai/install-host.sh | bash -s -- \
--key oc_host_... \
--region default \
--control-url wss://api.miosa.ai/api/v1/opencomputers/hosts/wsWindows uses PowerShell:
& ([scriptblock]::Create((iwr -UseBasicParsing https://api.miosa.ai/install-host.ps1))) `
-Key oc_host_... `
-Region default `
-ControlUrl wss://api.miosa.ai/api/v1/opencomputers/hosts/wsFor local testing from this repository, the wrapper scripts are in scripts/.
./scripts/install.sh --key oc_host_... --control-url wss://api.miosa.ai/api/v1/opencomputers/hosts/ws.\scripts\install.ps1 -Key oc_host_... -ControlUrl wss://api.miosa.ai/api/v1/opencomputers/hosts/wsCustomer host

No inbound ports are opened on the host. The control plane cannot dial into the machine directly; the host owns the connection.

|---|---|
| Miosa-osa/OSA | Canonical host agent and osa opencomputers runtime |
| Miosa-osa/miosa-compute | MIOSA backend API, installers served by the platform, and WebSocket endpoint |
| Miosa-osa/MiosaOS | MIOSA frontend connection wizard |
| Miosa-osa/OpenComputers | Public protocol, install wrappers, docs, and examples |
The most useful contributions are:
- protocol clarifications based on real client implementations
- installer fixes for macOS, Linux, or Windows
- alternate host-agent implementations in Rust, Go, Python, or another runtime
- accurate examples that work against the public MIOSA API
