Home menu 6) Power (Sleep / Turn off), and the commands sleep, shutdown, poweroff and power. They are taken only while no SSH session is open (in a session they go to the server). Before sleeping or turning off, ChatGPT is closed, unsaved command history is saved, WiFi is stopped, and the vault is locked if a PIN is set. After waking, WiFi reconnects as at boot. - T-Deck: sleep is CPU light sleep with the backlight off, woken by the trackball, the touch interrupt, or a 200 ms keyboard poll. Turn off cuts peripheral power (GPIO 10 held low) and deep-sleeps until the trackball is pressed. Only the power switch disconnects the battery. - Tab5: sleep turns the backlight and WiFi off and idles. Turn off pulses IO expander 0x44 P4 (as M5Unified does); on USB power it may stay on, and then it sleeps instead. The power button is wired only to the power circuit, so firmware can't read it (README explains). - The key or touch that wakes the device is swallowed. A full-screen layer absorbs the touch, so it can't press a button on the dark screen. Static internal RAM: T-Deck 116,199 -> 112,587 bytes (sleep code offset by CONFIG_ESP_WIFI_RX_IRAM_OPT=n and CONFIG_PM_POWER_DOWN_CPU_IN_LIGHT_SLEEP=n); Tab5 98,566 -> 98,574. Not yet tested on hardware. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
… any screen Inside an SSH session on the Tab5 every key went to the server, and in ChatGPT typed text went to the chat, so there was no reliable way back to the menu. Ctrl+Del (Tab5 keyboard) and a new Menu button in the swipe-left panel (replacing Exit SSH; the T-Deck keyboard has no Ctrl key) now work on every screen. They end an SSH session (also one waiting for host-key trust or a passphrase), close ChatGPT (stopping recording, a reply or speech) or cancel a menu, wipe the half-typed input line, and show the home menu. Ctrl+Del is never sent to the server; Del alone is unchanged. Host test for the key map; README, help, AI_RULES and SECURITY updated. No change in static RAM. Not yet tested on hardware. …ble; record y The shared sdkconfig.defaults sets CONFIG_ESP_WIFI_RX_IRAM_OPT=n for the T-Deck. On the ESP32-P4 the option has no prompt (esp_wifi_remote mirrors WIFI_RMT_RX_IRAM_OPT), so the generated sdkconfig.tab5 keeps y and the install job's defaults check failed. The P4 runs no WiFi driver, so this costs no IRAM; the firmware CI builds is unchanged. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
