💻 Windows setup

Follow these steps on a Windows PC:

  3. If you downloaded a .zip file, extract it.
  4. If you downloaded an .exe file, double-click it to run the app.
  5. If Windows asks for permission, choose Allow or Run.

If the app comes in a folder after extraction, look for the main .exe file and start that file.

🛠️ Common problems

The app does not start

Try these steps:

  • Make sure the download finished
  • Check that Windows did not block the file
  • Extract the ZIP file before opening the app
  • Run the .exe file from the extracted folder
  • Restart your PC and try again

Windows says it is unsafe

This can happen with files downloaded from the web. Open the file details and choose the option to keep or run it only if you meant to download wardn from the release page.

The download looks incomplete

If the file size is very small, the download may have failed. Go back to the release page and download it again.

I cannot find the app

Check these places:

  • Downloads folder
  • Desktop
  • the folder where you extracted the ZIP file
  • the folder you chose during setup

🧪 Example setup for an AI agent

A simple local setup may look like this:

  • wardn stores the real API key
  • your agent uses a local connector
  • the connector requests access from wardn
  • wardn returns only the scoped access needed for that task
  • the agent never sees the full key
