SUMMARY

Depends on LibrePCB-Libraries/LibrePCB_ICs.lplib#51.

Add components and devices for L6981 step-down regulators.

Four variants:

  • L6981CDR: adjustable voltage, low consumption mode
  • L6981CxxDR (L6981C33DR, L6981C50DR): fixed voltage, low consumption mode
  • L6981NDR: adjustable voltage, low noise mode
  • L6981NxxDR (L6981N33DR, L6981N50DR): fixed voltage, low noise mode

  • I have read and followed the library conventions¹.
  • For packages, I followed IPC7351C (see details in library conventions).
  • For modified elements, I bumped their version number².
  • I already used the new library elements in a design and verified their correctness (optional).
  • I'm the copyright owner of the added content (i.e. the changes are made by myself, not copied/imported from somewhere else).
  • I agree to publish all my changes under the CC0 Public Domain License³, allowing everyone to use and modify the content without any restrictions.

¹ Library Conventions: https://docs.librepcb.org/#libraryconventions
² Minor version bump if only metadata was modified (e.g. "0.1" -> "0.1.1"), major version bump if functional changes were made (e.g. "0.1" -> "0.2")

The symbol actually looks very generic, I think it could be reused for many other components in future. Would you mind moving it to the LibrePCB Integrated Circuits library, and renaming it (and its pins) to make it generic?

We already have the generic symbol "Generic IC 8-Pin" there, I'd then call this one "Generic IC 8-Pin (Large)". The dimensions of your symbol look good to me, I'd keep that as-is. You can use the "Move to other library" button to keep the symbols UUIDs, so the component remains valid.

I didn't review the components & devices yet. But so far your posted schematic looks very clean, i.e. I like the pin placements.
