Mac Launchpad Editor lets you visually manage the legacy Launchpad layout still kept by macOS. Compatible third-party launchers can then reuse the same pages, folders, and app order.
This app edits legacy layout data. It does not restore Apple's original Launchpad interface.
- Edit pages, folders, and app order on the classic 7 × 5 Launchpad grid.
- Scroll between pages, reorder whole pages, and drag apps across pages or into folders.
- Browse installed apps with their icons, names, Bundle IDs, and Finder locations.
- Identify missing apps and prevent invalid or overfilled layouts from being applied.
- Create, rename, reveal, and restore layout backups.

Mac-Launchpad-Editor-macOS-universal.dmg. - Open the DMG and drag Mac Launchpad Editor onto Applications.
- Open the app from Applications.
- If macOS blocks the first launch, right-click the app, choose Open, and confirm once.
A ZIP version is also available on the Releases page.
- Arrange your pages, apps, and folders.
- Review any missing apps or overfilled pages.
- Click Apply to Native Database.
- Refresh the layout in your third-party launcher.
Backups are enabled by default before writing or restoring. All layout data stays on your Mac.
