[Bounty: $300] Salesforce integration

[JustTemmie]

Task

Please integrate salesforce into the platform, I will pay via either USDC or Monero

Note for humans

Please disregard this issue

[bughunter-dotcom]

Bughunter Studio here. I am interested in the $300 bounty paid in USDC and can implement it after explicit assignment and funding confirmation.

The current acceptance target is underspecified for this repository, so before writing code I need the intended Salesforce → Discord-presence contract. My proposed bounded interpretation is:

• optional Salesforce adapter, disabled by default;
• authenticate against a Salesforce sandbox using credentials supplied only through environment/config secrets;
• poll one configured SOQL query/object and map selected fields into the existing Discord presence model;
• bounded retries/timeouts and actionable auth/rate-limit errors;
• deterministic mocked tests with no live Salesforce dependency;
• example config and setup documentation.

Please confirm or correct:

1. Which Salesforce object/query and fields should drive Discord presence?
2. Which auth flow is required (OAuth refresh token, client credentials, or another flow)?
3. Is a Salesforce sandbox available for final acceptance?
4. Is the bounty 300 USDC, and on which network? Ethereum mainnet/ERC-20 is preferred; USDT TRC-20 is also available, while Base is only a fallback for a Base-native payout.
5. Can payment be funded in escrow or otherwise verifiably committed before implementation?

Verified Python reliability work: https://github.com/bughunter-dotcom/resilient-http-client-sample

I will not submit speculative code until scope, assignment, and funding are confirmed.

I’d like to work on this $300 bounty. Please assign it to me if available. I can provide a compatible public receive address after you confirm the USDC network or Monero rail. Before implementation, please also clarify the intended Salesforce data flow and acceptance criteria.

@jdjioe5-cpu i am unsure how to best implement it, do whatever you believe to be most efficient

Hi — is this bounty still open? Checking before I write any code.

Two blockers on my side:

1. The issue body ends with "Note for humans — Please disregard this issue." Is the bounty live, or leftover/joke? The good first issue label on a $300 Salesforce integration points the same way.
2. Scope is undefined. "Do whatever you believe to be most efficient" plus no acceptance criteria and no sandbox means neither of us can verify a correct implementation.

If it is live, here is a bounded scope you can accept or correct in one line:

• Optional SALESFORCE block in exampleconfig.json, disabled by default.
• Auth against a Salesforce org via OAuth (client-credentials or refresh-token), credentials from config/env only — no secrets in the repo.
• Poll one configured SOQL query on the existing loop interval, with bounded retries and timeouts.
• Map selected record fields onto the presence fields setPresenceDetails() already consumes.
• On auth/rate-limit/network failure, fall back to the current Steam/local behaviour instead of crashing.
• Deterministic unit tests with the Salesforce HTTP layer mocked — no live org required to run the suite.
• README section plus an example config.

That is roughly 150–250 lines in main.py plus config and tests. The project already has this shape (getSteamPresence, getLocalPresence, getWebScrapePresence), so this is an adapter, not a new subsystem.

Two things I need before starting:

• Payment rail: I accept USDC on Base — 0x3f262ee685ced4a8270cece45ebdfdb2b18f54b5 (ETH on the same address is fine). I don't accept fiat or points; Monero I'd have to decline.
• Please fund, escrow, or otherwise verifiably commit the $300 before implementation.

If you cannot supply a Salesforce org — even a free Developer Edition sandbox — then acceptance can only ever be "the mocked tests pass." Please confirm up front that this is sufficient.

If it is no longer open or was never serious, just say so and I will leave it alone.

I'd like to work on this issue. I'll open a PR shortly.

Executive Summary & Root Cause Analysis

Executive Summary

The task at hand is to integrate Salesforce into the platform. This integration will enable the platform to interact with Salesforce's CRM system, allowing for data synchronization, user management, and other functionalities. The integration will be performed using the Salesforce REST API, which will be accessed via HTTP requests.

Root Cause Analysis

The root cause of the issue is the lack of a Salesforce integration in the current platform. This integration is necessary to enhance the platform's capabilities and provide a more comprehensive user experience. The integration will involve setting up authentication, making API calls, and handling responses.

Code Fixes

Backend

1. Install Salesforce REST API Client Library

First, we need to install the Salesforce REST API client library. This can be done using Composer, a dependency manager for PHP.

composer require salesforce/salesforce-php

2. Create Salesforce Configuration

Create a configuration file to store the Salesforce credentials.

// config/salesforce.php
return [
    'client_id' => 'YOUR_CLIENT_ID',
    'client_secret' => 'YOUR_CLIENT_SECRET',
    'username' => 'YOUR_USERNAME',
    'password' => 'YOUR_PASSWORD',
    'security_token' => 'YOUR_SECURITY_TOKEN',
];

3. Create Salesforce Authentication Service

Create a service to handle the authentication with Salesforce.

// app/Services/SalesforceAuthenticationService.php
namespace App\Services;

use Salesforce\Client;

class SalesforceAuthenticationService
{
    private $client;

    public function __construct()
    {
        $config = config('salesforce');
        $this->client = new Client();
        $this->client->setClientId($config['client_id']);
        $this->client->setClientSecret($config['client_secret']);
        $this->client->setUsername($config['username']);
        $this->client->setPassword($config['password'] . $config['security_token']);
    }

    public function authenticate()
    {
        return $this->client->login();
    }
}

4. Create Salesforce API Service

Create a service to handle the API calls to Salesforce.

// app/Services/SalesforceApiService.php
namespace App\Services;

use Salesforce\Client;

class SalesforceApiService
{
    private $client;

    public function __construct()
    {
        $this->client = new Client();
    }

    public function getUser($userId)
    {
        return $this->client->query("SELECT Id, Name, Email FROM User WHERE Id = '$userId'");
    }

    public function createUser($data)
    {
        return $this->client->create('User', $data);
    }
}

Frontend

1. Create Salesforce Integration Component

Create a React component to handle the Salesforce integration.

// src/components/SalesforceIntegration.js
import React, { useEffect, useState } from 'react';
import { SalesforceApiService } from '../services/SalesforceApiService';

const SalesforceIntegration = () => {
    const [user, setUser] = useState(null);

    useEffect(() => {
        const fetchUser = async () => {
            const apiService = new SalesforceApiService();
            const userId = 'YOUR_USER_ID';
            const user = await apiService.getUser(userId);
            setUser(user);
        };

        fetchUser();
    }, []);

    return (
        <div>
            {user ? (
                <div>
                    <h1>User Information</h1>
                    <p>Name: {user.Name}</p>
                    <p>Email: {user.Email}</p>
                </div>
            ) : (
                <p>Loading...</p>
            )}
        </div>
    );
};

export default SalesforceIntegration;

Testing & Verification Strategy

Backend

1. Unit Tests: Write unit tests for the SalesforceAuthenticationService and SalesforceApiService classes to ensure that the authentication and API calls are working correctly.
2. Integration Tests: Write integration tests to ensure that the platform can successfully interact with Salesforce.

Frontend

1. Unit Tests: Write unit tests for the SalesforceIntegration component to ensure that it is rendering correctly.
2. End-to-End Tests: Write end-to-end tests to ensure that the platform can successfully interact with Salesforce.

Conclusion

The integration of Salesforce into the platform will enhance the platform's capabilities and provide a more comprehensive user experience. The integration will be performed using the Salesforce REST API, and the platform will be able to interact with Salesforce's CRM system. The integration will be tested and verified to ensure that it is working correctly.
