"a game on steam" since v1.12.4

Whatever I play, since the last patch, it only says "a game on steam" for all of my games. All worked fine before.

The games are detected correctly, maybe it's the "discord game ID not found"?

I'm having this issue too. Have you found any fix?

I have just realised that this happened at a time when I was playing almost exclusively games with Roman numerals in the title. It seems that a large number of games on Steam have been renamed, and now they don't match the Discord games library.

We need either to make Roman numerals compatible with normal numbers in the library search, or to wait for Discord to update their library.

I started working on a solution, but lost focus and never finished it. I am also not very familiar with the "steam-presence" code base. I suppose the best place for this would be here, since there is already code for searching for variants in the form of demos:

i believe this happened because the api endpoint was updated in a25dd47

can you try undoing this change locally to see if that fixes it?

i swapped that line out and it didn't seem to make a difference.

I checked the output of the v8-endpoint and the v9-endpoint for the example of "Slay the Spire 2" and it is identifcal:

So, the Discord API expects the game to be called 'Slay the Spire II'. There is no alias listed as 'Slay the Spire 2'. However, on Steam, it is listed as 'Slay the Spire 2'. As I log all the games played on my Discord server, I can pinpoint when it stopped matching: between 1st and 4th April. During this period, it seems that Discord decided to list 'Baldur's Gate 3' as 'Baldur's Gate III' and 'Slay the Spire 2' as 'Slay the Spire II'.
