The desktop implementation lacked several Python DCMDb controls and lost completed tool results when a later model request failed. This restores the missing cognitive APIs, fixes numerical and promotion differences, and journals tool intent/results inside the encrypted heart so recovery preserves evidence without automatically replaying uncertain actions.
The conversation flow now uses signed affect-aware recall, query/goal-aware context, child check-ins with refreshed shared recall, streamed responses with inline-thought separation, and text tool schemas for endpoints advertising no native tool support. Chat installs the pinned NLI answer checker automatically using verified downloads; explicit local models, offline mode, the disable option, and existing desktop action/round limits remain supported. Removes three unused direct dependencies and refreshes licenses and lockfiles.
Validation: 253 Rust workspace tests and 257 isolated Python tests; generated cross-language Thymos/DCMDb fixtures; strict Clippy; formatting; locked fuzz compilation; optimized build; both dependency audits; license and release-hygiene checks. Genuine MiniLM/NLI inference, clean interactive installation/settings reuse, authenticated browser streaming, and v0.2.0 heart read/write/reopen checks passed. The inherited unmaintained paste warning remains informational.
See docs/desktop-parity-audit.md for the feature map, evidence, and intentional differences. Existing heart layouts are preserved; Python state-file import and approximate-index performance are not claimed. This is a desktop-only update with no Android or separate Codex-provider changes. No new release tag is included.
