🚩 Red Teaming Internship Project

🏢 Organization: Cyart
👨‍💻 Author: Abhay Pandya

📌 Overview

Red Teaming is a strategic, adversary-simulated security practice designed to test how well an organization can withstand real-world cyber attacks. Instead of simply finding vulnerabilities, a Red Team evaluates the entire security posture—including detection capabilities, response effectiveness, and organizational resilience.

A Red Team operates by thinking and acting like an actual threat actor 🕵️‍♂️. This involves:

  • 🔍 Reconnaissance — gathering information to understand the attack surface
  • 🎯 Targeted exploitation in controlled environments
  • 🔄 Lateral movement simulations
  • 🕶️ OpSec and evasion techniques to bypass monitoring
  • 📡 Simulated attack chains to test detection & response workflows

The primary goal is not to cause disruption—but to reveal gaps, strengthen defense mechanisms, and help the organization improve its readiness against advanced threats.

Through realistic attack simulations, Red Teams provide organizations with:

  • ⚠️ Insight into unnoticed vulnerabilities
  • 🛡️ Opportunities to improve detection and response
  • 📈 Actionable recommendations to enhance cybersecurity maturity

This makes Red Teaming an essential part of modern cybersecurity, helping organizations stay prepared against evolving threats.
