NV Broadcast has reached a point where maintaining it consistently needs a more sustainable base.
As of August 6, 2026, the project has reached 100 GitHub stars and 900 GitHub release-asset downloads, and the Snap dashboard reports 104 active users. These are different signals, not a precise count of unique users, but they show that people are using the project beyond the repository.
I lead and maintain NV Broadcast, with valuable bug reports, testing, ideas, documentation, and code contributions from the community. Every release involves more than feature work: GPU and TensorRT runtimes, physical cameras, PipeWire and PulseAudio, native packages, Snap, macOS, issue reproduction, contribution review, and release verification all need attention.
My first sustainability goal is 10 monthly sponsors. Reaching it will help me reserve predictable maintenance time for:
Core features will remain open source. Sponsorship funds maintenance for the whole community. Roadmap and issue priority remain based on security, impact, reproducibility, community needs, and what is technically right for the project.
I have simplified the sponsor tiers around sustainable maintenance, with options starting at $5 per month and one-time support starting at $10. Sponsor ongoing development.
Mattsky is recorded as the project's founding sponsor for supporting the work while this program was being established. I will use GitHub Discussions for public maintenance and release updates so supporters and users can see what the work is enabling.
