NV Broadcast is an open-source virtual camera and audio application for Linux. It provides background removal, blur and replacement, video enhancement, noise removal, and local meeting tools in one desktop application.
Current work focuses on:
- improving camera segmentation around hair and difficult lighting
- making GPU, CUDA, and TensorRT behavior more reliable across systems
- strengthening camera, virtual-device, and audio compatibility
- testing native packages, Snap releases, and macOS builds
- reviewing community bug reports and contributions carefully
I created and lead NV Broadcast with help from community reports, testing, documentation, ideas, and code contributions. As usage grows, so does the work needed to reproduce hardware-specific bugs, review changes, test packages, and verify releases.
My first goal is 10 monthly sponsors. Recurring support helps me reserve predictable maintenance time without putting core features behind a paywall. Financial supporters make sustained maintainer time possible, while contributors strengthen the project. Roadmap priorities remain based on security, impact, reproducibility, community needs, and project requirements.
