An ambitious open-ended evolutionary simulation exploring multi-scale agency, persistent identity, and collective intelligence — progressing toward Thronglet-level emergence.

This project investigates what happens when evolutionary complexity is allowed to stack across multiple layers of organization. Rather than focusing only on improving individual agents, it explores the emergence of higher-order entities (MacroOrganisms) that contain other complex structures, complete with their own identity, goals, and internal dynamics.
Key themes:
- Multi-scale evolution
- Distributed cognition
- Emergent roles and personalities
- Sonic communication and cultural transmission
- Persistent group identity
This repository also hosts a series of browser-based mini-games that demonstrate core principles from the simulation:
| Experiment | Description | Link |
|---|---|---|
| Life Lab | Core evolutionary swarm simulation | sandbox.html |
| Neural Forager | Watch a creature’s neural network make decisions in real time | neural_forager.html |
| Echoes | Creature with visible memory and emotional states | echoes.html |
- Main Simulation: Python + Pygame (private repo)
- Website & Experiments: HTML, Tailwind CSS, p5.js

This project follows a strict versioned, incremental development approach (inspired by the simulation itself). Each new feature or mini-game is built as a focused, testable step.
