My name is Daniel, and I am an experienced Lead Engineer now working as a Head of Engineering.

I currently work for FlyPix a geospatial AI startup: we want to enable anyone, even without specialized AI knowledge, to extract semantic information from remote sensing (satellite/drone) data automatically. As the Head of Engineering at FlyPix I am responsible for the entire engineering team: From evaluating Product Opportunities to developing both ML algorithms or full-stack, setting technical vision and architecture and mentoring the entire team. I love to lead by example, by making work a fun and collaborative experience and moving with a high velocity.
I enjoy any kind of technical challenges that can provide value to a customer, and am especially passionate about ✨ Clean Code ✨ and have signed the Manifesto for Software Craftmanship.
When I'm not building software I am often out hiking 🥾 + travelling 🛫 with my beautiful wife 👰 or playing the drums 🥁 in different orchestras in Karlsruhe, Germany where I'm currently located.
