Nightflix has two main parts:
- TMDB is used as the catalogue. This is what lets the app show which movies and series exist, together with their posters and details.
- Your streaming provider is used for playback. You add the provider URL during setup or later in Settings. When you press play, Nightflix tries to open the matching movie or episode through that provider.
Whether a title can actually play depends on your provider. If the provider does not have that title, does not support the link format, or is unavailable, Nightflix cannot play it.
When you open Nightflix for the first time, the app asks for:
- A TMDB Read Access Token.
- A movie provider URL.
The TMDB token is required because Nightflix needs it to load the movie and series catalogue. The provider URL is used only for playback. You can skip the provider during setup and add it later from Settings.
From Settings, you can edit your TMDB token and provider, change the app appearance, control animations, enable or disable haptic feedback, and delete local data such as history, cache, or saved setup details.
Nightflix does not own, host, upload, or provide any movies or TV shows. Playback depends entirely on the provider added by the user.
Use Nightflix only with streaming providers and content that you are allowed to access. If a provider is offline, unsupported, or does not contain a selected title, playback may fail.
Nightflix uses TMDB for movie and TV metadata but is not endorsed, certified, or otherwise approved by TMDB. Nightflix does not encourage nor endorse its usage for any unauthorized and/or illegal purpose. Nightflix does not encourage piracy in any form. Users are fully responsible for how they use the app and for ensuring that any streaming provider or content they access complies with applicable laws and copyright regulations.
