Hi,
I am currently using Sidepanel v0.9.5 on Windows, integrated with Libre Hardware Monitor v0.9.6.
Microsoft Defender recently flagged and quarantined the file Sidepanel.sys located in the application folder: X:\Program Files\LibreHardwareMonitor.NET.10\Sidepanel\Sidepanel.v0.9.5\Sidepanel.sys.
The threat is identified as VulnerableDriver:WinNT/Winring0. It seems Windows now blacklists certain versions of the WinRing0 driver due to known vulnerabilities.
Since I am using Libre Hardware Monitor as my primary data source, I have a couple of questions:
Is this specific driver (Sidepanel.sys) mandatory for the web dashboard to function when data is already being provided by LHM?
Are there plans to update the driver to a version that isn't flagged by Microsoft?
I've attached a screenshot of the Defender alert for reference.
Thank you for this great tool!
